The Omakase Room at Sushi-san is a ten-seat omakase counter on the second floor of 63 W. Grand Ave. in River North, above the Lettuce Entertain You sushi bar of the same name and a block from the Grand Red Line stop. Master sushi chef Kaze Chan, one of the chefs who shaped Chicago sushi in the late 1990s, leads an 18-course menu built nightly from line-caught fish, with master chef Shigeru Kitano and chef de cuisine Michael Graffeo. A large Japanese whisky and sake list accompanies the meal.

- Seatings are at 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, per the restaurant’s site.
- The counter is closed Sunday through Tuesday.
- Reservations go through Lettuce Entertain You’s booking system.
