The Selfhelp Home

The Selfhelp Home is an urban, independent nonprofit on Argyle Street in Uptown that provides a full continuum of care in a Jewish cultural setting. Its roots go back to Selfhelp of Chicago, founded in 1938, which set up a refuge for Holocaust survivors. Today the home has independent living, assisted living, long-term skilled care, short-term rehabilitation and outpatient therapy. The Argyle Red Line station and the Argyle Street restaurant strip are a couple of blocks away.
