Vintage Frills

About

Vintage Frills is a vintage clothing and decor store at 2846 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Avondale, owned by Jennifer Kelly, who spent years at Chanel, Gucci and Neiman Marcus before starting the business as a pink school bus during the 2020 layoffs. The storefront was already divided into cubbies, so the shop organizes 1970s-to-Y2K clothing by color: a yellow room, a blue room, a pink room, a red room and a black-and-neutral room, plus a prom and event-dress section and shelves of figurines and home decor.

What to know

  • Vintage Frills won Best New Retro Shop in Chicago Magazine’s 2022 awards, per the shop.
  • Block Club Chicago covered the store’s Sex and the City-themed drop in April 2025.
  • Blazers on the online store ran about $36 to $48 in September 2026.
  • The shop sits across Milwaukee Avenue from Monarch Thrift Shop.
  • Kelly grew up around a Roseland resale store where her mother worked.
