Women & Children First

Women & Children First is a feminist bookstore at 5233 N. Clark St. in Andersonville, on the same walkable stretch of Clark as the neighborhood’s restaurants and bakeries. The store sells new fiction and nonfiction with a focus on women, queer and trans writers, and the children’s section fills a good part of the floor. The events calendar is one of the busiest in the city, with a Wednesday morning storytime, book launches and off-site readings with visiting authors. The 22 Clark bus stops outside and metered parking runs along Clark.
