Writers Theatre

About

Writers Theatre started in 1992 in the back of a Glencoe bookstore with a premise that the written word and the actor come first, and has since grown into a company with a national reputation and a theater center on Tudor Court that shares its building with the Woman’s Library Club of Glencoe. The 2026-27 season, the company’s 35th, opened August 13 with Matthew Libby’s Sisters and continues with Marco Ramirez’s The Royale from October 22 to November 29, then Noël Coward’s Brief Encounter, Strindberg’s Creditors and a Hershey Felder piano show in 2027. Parking is free in the Metra lot next door.
