Family Spooktacular at Naper Settlement

Family Spooktacular is the daytime, little-kid half of Naper Settlement’s Halloween weekend. According to a September 23, 2026 Positively Naperville listing of the museum’s October programs, it runs Saturday, October 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, October 25 from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 4 to 12. Kids trick-or-treat across the grounds, a Disney tribute band plays, and there are inflatables and an interactive slime craft.

The grown-up version is Howlin’ at the Moon, a 21-and-over party on the same grounds on Friday and Saturday nights, October 23 and 24, from 5 to 10 p.m., with live music, food trucks, a costume contest and art installations, $25 per person with ID checked at the gate, per the same listing. Earlier in the month the museum runs an Oktoberfest on October 2 and 3, a lantern tour on October 6 and a family STEM potion lab on October 22.

Naper Settlement is run by the Naperville Heritage Society on city-owned land at 523 S. Webster St., a block from the Riverwalk. Tickets are sold on the museum’s site, and the museum says dates and details can change.

Metra’s BNSF line stops at Naperville, about a 15-minute walk south on Webster Street to the museum gate. Drivers use the museum’s lot off Webster or the city’s Central Parking Facility and Van Buren garage downtown, which are free on weekends and a five-minute walk. The Saturday morning session overlaps with Riverwalk foot traffic and the downtown farmers market, so streets are busy; Sunday’s noon session is the easier one. Costumes over warm layers, a candy bag and a stroller for the gravel paths are the essentials.
